| Q. |
My computer is being upgraded, how do I
move ASPpie / AnViL to the new PC?
|
| A. |
As with all software packages, when migrating your
application to a new machine you must be certain to save a complete
copy of the data directory and ensure the data transfer is
successful and ASPpie/AnViL are operational before doing
anything with the older machine.
In most cases your username and/or workstation name is
changed. It is much easier to move the software if the
user/workstation names remain the same as the original PC.
In cases, where these have changed, please email us your
useraccess.* files from your data directory along with the new username,
workstation name, and registration key and we will make the required changes.
For further info, please email us, prior to
changing machines.

| Q. |
Why are imported pictures and logos
displayed as an icon vs. the actual image?
|
| A. |
Fixed for version 2008! See below for older versions.
The software requires an associated OLE based application to
view .bmp, .jpg, .gif files. Most users are using Microsoft Office.
MS Office comes with an application called MS Photo Editor. It isn't
installed by default so you may need to install it to your PC. Once
installed completed the following steps to associate the given file types to
MS Photo Editor. You may need assistance from you Information Systems
group.
click on start / run type "regedit", click OK
Under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT find the entries for .bmp, .jpg
Change their default key values to MSPhotoEd.3
Content type should be image/bmp or image/jpeg
Run ASPpie and your images should be displayed correctly.

I'm unable to enter data into the fields.
'Control is read-only' appears on the status bar and program beeps.

Each form requires you to select the current mode using the
toolbar at the bottom of each screen. For example, to add a new record
you must first click on the 'Add' Button, you will then be able to enter you
data. When you have finished entering the data you must click the
'Save' Button to record your new record. To edit a record, first click
on the 'Edit' button, make the desired changes and press the 'Save' Button.

The program keeps prompting me to enter my
registration key.
|
| A. |
You must initialize the company information. Select
Tools / Setup Option, click the 'Edit' button, enter your company
information and click the 'Save' button. You will no longer be
prompted for the registration key.
|
| Q. |
I have no File / Tools / Window / Help
toolbar at the top of the program window.
|
| A. |
You screen resolution is most likely set too low.
ASPpie was designed with a resolution of 800 x 600 but works best at 1024 x
768 and above. Using the mouse, right click on the desktop, select
properties, choose the settings tab and adjust your display settings.
If your are using 800 x 600 resolution, you will also want to modify your
ASPpie shortcut used to launch the program. Right-click on the ASPpie
icon, select properties, in the 'Run:' option select 'Maximized'.
